Pax Autocratica Demo: The Free Prologue
Yes, Pax Autocratica has a free demo — the stand-alone Prologue on Steam since December 2025. No beta program exists. Where to get it and what it includes.
Yes — Pax Autocratica has a free demo, and you can play it right now. It is published as Pax Autocratica: Prologue, a stand-alone Steam release that has been live since December 1, 2025. This is not a loose interpretation: Multiverse’s own patch announcements for it are literally titled “DEMO UPDATE”.
If you searched for a beta instead, the answer is shorter: there is none, and the Prologue is what you are looking for.

Demo vs Beta
Section titled “Demo vs Beta”Is there a Pax Autocratica beta?
No. Multiverse has announced no beta program, beta signup or playtest. The free Prologue remains available alongside the paid Early Access release, which launched August 10, 2026.
Pages promising “Pax Autocratica beta access” or sign-up links are describing something that does not exist. If you want to play before buying, the Prologue is the entire pre-launch offer — and it costs nothing.
What the Demo Includes
Section titled “What the Demo Includes”What does the Pax Autocratica demo include?
The Prologue covers the first sector, Elysia: colony building, citizen management through fear or comfort, prisoner conversion, expeditions and first-person roguelite combat. Deeper automation, mechs and other late-game mechanics are excluded.
Multiverse has also said base and battle scale are smaller than the full game, and content balance may still change before Early Access. For a full breakdown of where the demo ends and the paid game begins, see Prologue vs Early Access.
How to Get It
Section titled “How to Get It”How do I download the Pax Autocratica demo?
Install Pax Autocratica: Prologue from its own Steam page, App ID 4107120. It is free, requires no purchase or wishlist, and is not a timed demo.
The only official source is the Prologue’s Steam page. This site hosts no files and links only to Steam.
The Demo Is Actively Updated
Section titled “The Demo Is Actively Updated”The Prologue is not an abandoned teaser — Multiverse has shipped over twenty “DEMO UPDATE” patches since December 2025, with the most recent update and a follow-up hotfix landing in early August 2026. The patch notes page tracks the full update history, including known issues and workarounds.
Will It Stay After Launch?
Section titled “Will It Stay After Launch?”Will the demo be removed when the full game launches?
Multiverse has not announced any plan to remove it. Because it is a separate store listing rather than a demo attached to the main page, it stays installed and playable regardless of the full game’s status.
