Timeline
Section titled “Timeline”December 1, 2025 — Free Prologue released. Pax Autocratica: Prologue launches on Steam as a free stand-alone release covering the first sector, Elysia. Multiverse publishes explicit notes stating it contains a limited portion of the full game, with smaller base and battle scale, and without deeper automation, mechs or other late-game mechanics.
December 15, 2025 — First Early Access date announced: February 2, 2026. The announcement also includes a humanitarian pledge: 1% of all net revenue will be donated to the Norwegian Refugee Council to support victims of violence in conflict areas.
January 13, 2026 — Rescheduled to March 4, 2026. Official broadcast citing core balancing, stability and onboarding refinement.
February 5, 2026 — 200,000 wishlists. Multiverse announces the game has passed 200,000 Steam wishlists.
February 10, 2026 — Rescheduled to May 7, 2026. The announcement describes the change as final, citing onboarding, balance and stability work.
April 21, 2026 — Postponed without a date. An unusually candid broadcast: “we are postponing Early Access again, and we are not announcing the new release date today.” The plan remains a summer launch, a demo update and a closed playtest are promised, and the Steam page returns to Coming Soon. Full history on the release date page.
December 2025 – August 2026 — Continuous Prologue updates. Throughout this period Multiverse ships a steady stream of official “Demo Update” patches to the free Prologue — over twenty announcements, tracked on the patch notes page.
July 22, 2026 — Price, launch times and new trailer announced. Multiverse publishes an official announcement confirming the Early Access launch price — $29.99 USD / €29.99 / £24.99 / ¥108 RMB with a 17% launch discount for the first two weeks — plus exact unlock times for five regions (North America: August 10, 8:00 AM PT) and a new trailer. Full breakdown on the price and release date pages.
August 2, 2026 — Latest Prologue update, eight days before launch. Another official demo patch lands — combat balance, difficulty tuning and bug fixes — showing active development right up to the August 10 Early Access launch.
August 10, 2026 — Early Access launch. The game goes live with a 17% launch discount. The announcement carries an Early Access roadmap as an image — eighteen planned items including Online Co-op and Steam Achievements, with no dates on any of them. Reproduced in full on the roadmap page.
August 11, 2026 — First Early Access patch, “State Maintenance Directive”. One day after launch. Fixes a save-data failure and a softlock that could trap the Leader in the Office. See patch notes.
August 12, 2026 — “Directive AG-12”. The largest patch so far and the first driven by player feedback: a Soldier Aging toggle, an Exile function, automatic save backups, reduced Infested Nest difficulty and lower soldier upgrade costs.
August 13, 2026 — “State of the Frontline”. Not a patch, but the most informative announcement since launch. Multiverse sets out the pain points it has accepted as priorities — capture and prisoner conversion depth, repetitive expeditions, soldier behaviour and combat controls, unclear guidance — and names specific requests “already being worked on or investigated”, including mod support, co-op mode and the Steam Deck virtual keyboard issue. It also publishes an official three-step fix for crashes: verify game files, turn off DLSS, turn off Frame Generation. See crash and bug fixes and mods.
August 15, 2026 — “Directive AG-14”. Three advanced Capture Rounds added, and failed capture attempts now briefly protect the target from being killed. Includes an attempted fix for FSR-related crashes — the word is Multiverse’s own.
August 19, 2026 — 100,000 players in 8 days. Multiverse announces that 100,000 players have joined since launch, with more than 500,000 wishlists still outstanding — up from 200,000 in February. The post also teases a custom colony settings panel for adjusting simulation parameters, which is not on the August 10 roadmap. Figures on the player count page.
What This Page Is Watching
Section titled “What This Page Is Watching”Early Access is live, so the open questions have changed. What would be logged here if announced:
- A date for Online Co-op, which sits on the roadmap with no schedule. See multiplayer.
- Any movement on mod support beyond the August 13 acknowledgement — a roadmap entry, tools, or a Workshop category. See mods.
- Steam Achievements shipping, which are planned but not implemented. See achievements.
- The custom colony settings panel teased on August 19, and whatever else the promised “more about what comes next” turns out to be.
- A Steam Deck compatibility rating from Valve, and a fix for the virtual keyboard issue Multiverse has acknowledged.
- Console, Mac or Linux support. See console versions.
- The third and fourth sectors, grouped as future content on the roadmap.
Patch-level changes are tracked separately on the patch notes page; this page carries announcement-level news.
Pax Autocratica News FAQ
Section titled “Pax Autocratica News FAQ”What is the latest Pax Autocratica news?
On August 19, 2026 Multiverse announced that 100,000 players had joined in the eight days since the Early Access launch, with more than 500,000 wishlists still outstanding, and teased a custom colony settings panel. Before that, three patches shipped on August 11, 12 and 15, and an August 13 announcement set out the priorities Multiverse has accepted and an official three-step fix for crashes.
Has Pax Autocratica been delayed?
It was, three times before release: February 2 to March 4 to May 7, then postponed without a date in April 2026. It finally launched into Early Access on August 10, 2026, so the delays are now history rather than an open question.
