Patch Notes

Pax Autocratica patch notes: all three Early Access patches in full, the official Early Access roadmap, and Multiverse's complete Prologue update history.

Pax Autocratica launched into Early Access on August 10, 2026, and Multiverse has shipped three patches since — on August 11, 12 and 15. All three are recorded in full below, newest first, alongside the official Early Access roadmap published on launch day and the Prologue’s own patch history of more than twenty “Demo Update” and “Demo Hotfix” announcements since December 2025.

The cadence itself is the headline: a save-integrity fix within 24 hours of launch, a feedback-driven feature patch on day 2, and a balance and bug pass on day 5.

One thing to be clear about, because other sites get it wrong: Multiverse does not use version numbers. Patches arrive as titled Steam community announcements, not as “1.0.2” or “Patch 3”. If a site presents neatly version-numbered patch notes for this game, it invented the numbering. Everything on this page is reproduced from first-party announcements, with each source linked.

August 15, 2026 — “Directive AG-14: State Maintenance”

Section titled “August 15, 2026 — “Directive AG-14: State Maintenance””

The third Early Access patch. Multiverse began numbering directives with this cycle — AG-12 and AG-14 — though these are directive labels, not game version numbers.

New features

  • Three new advanced Capture Rounds, with higher capture chances against Elites and Bosses.

Combat

  • After a failed capture attempt, that enemy cannot be killed for a short period. The Leader’s melee attacks still bypass this and can kill the target.
  • Increased damage of Weapon Core · Vortex Shell; increased damage area of Weapon Core · Thunderbolt Arrow.

UI and interaction

  • Save files now sorted by creation time, ascending.
  • Fixed Soldier Deployment bar layout and text overlap at 16:10 resolutions.

Bug fixes

Fix Notes
Battle results interface could not be opened Blocked post-battle review
Attempted fix for crashes caused by enabling FSR Multiverse’s own wording is “attempted” — treat as unresolved until confirmed
Incorrect pregnancy states caused by Mandatory Reproduction Colony system bug
Item prices at the Trade Port were set incorrectly Economy bug
Soldiers could cause resources to disappear while hauling Resource loss
Scourgeborn Ravager animation issues; factory wall visuals in Scourgeborn Wilds Warzone Visual
Leader’s Inspiration and gathering loop sound effects would not play Audio
Music switching incorrectly when gathering on the Star Map while chased by pirates Audio
Several voice-over issues Audio

The capture change is the one that alters how you play. Failed captures previously left you free to simply kill the target; now the enemy is briefly unkillable except by the Leader’s melee, which forces a decision rather than letting a failed capture collapse into a kill.

Official announcement, August 15, 2026

August 12, 2026 — “Directive AG-12: Post-Launch State Maintenance”

Section titled “August 12, 2026 — “Directive AG-12: Post-Launch State Maintenance””

The largest patch so far, and the first driven explicitly by player feedback rather than by crash reports.

Major updates

Change What it means
Soldier Aging toggle Aging can now be switched off entirely, keeping soldiers at peak condition. Changeable at any time, takes effect immediately
Exile feature Remove redundant or low-contribution soldiers to free space and resources — previously only captives could be removed
Automatic save backups Previous saves are preserved automatically if the game is interrupted by a crash, blue screen or freeze. Directly follows the August 11 save-data fix
Manual deposit quantity Specify how many items to place into a building instead of all-or-nothing
Infested Nest difficulty reduced Explicitly credited to “battlefield reports from multiple Leaders”
Soldier Upgrade costs reduced Fewer points to upgrade regular soldiers, elites and bosses

Balance

  • Reduced melee damage of Vicious Venom Bugs, Toxic Mist damage of Crimson Spiders, melee damage of Crimson Crawlers.
  • Reduced the percentage of HP restored by elite and boss insect units.
  • Reduced research time for the Prison.
  • Improved early-game quest rewards.

Bug fixes

  • Certain actions could cause save loading to fail.
  • Crash during the Scourgeborn Arena battle.
  • Crash when using FSR Frame Generation in Borderless mode.
  • Freeze when opening another interface while being electrocuted.
  • Building models displayed incorrectly on Windows systems using the Turkish locale.
  • Command Center and Victory Square could unlock research interfaces before being repaired.
  • Boss objective indicator could fail to appear during the Serina Outlands Decisive Battle.
  • Missions involving soldier interactions terminated automatically without paying out rewards.
  • Assorted visual fixes: spaceship rear effects, Freeze affix effects, Scourgeborn Chief Ravager skill trail, battle models.

Known issue, stated by Multiverse

  • Pressing V does not properly open the battle stats interface.

Read the major updates as a group and a pattern shows: an aging toggle, an exile function, automatic save backups and reduced grind are all responses to complaints, shipped two days after launch. Multiverse said as much in the announcement — “Leaders across the State have flooded the Ministry with battlefield reports… We have been reading them, discussing them, and, most importantly, acting on them.”

Official announcement, August 12, 2026

August 11, 2026 — “State Maintenance Directive”

Section titled “August 11, 2026 — “State Maintenance Directive””

The first patch to the full game, published one day after Early Access launch. Multiverse gave it no version number, only a title. Reproduced from the official announcement:

Bug fixes

Fix What it affected
Save data could fail to save correctly under certain conditions The most consequential entry on the list — a save-integrity fix. If you played on the launch build, update before your next session
Some building models displayed incorrectly during the final phase of the tutorial battle Visual, tutorial only
Some models displayed incorrectly during battles Visual, general combat
Lightning visual effects used by the Sattleri Energist Visual, one specific enemy unit
The Leader could be unable to leave the Office under certain conditions A softlock — the Leader could get stuck in the Office with no way out
The Toxic Fog Core could not be triggered when the Leader attacked the Tree of Asherah during its final phase A boss-fight fix: one Core was non-functional in a final phase
Objective count for the quest Prepare for Auryto was incorrect Quest tracking showed the wrong number of objectives

Improvements and optimisations

  • Additional male voice lines added.
  • Special Creator Soldiers can now be renamed.

Multiverse closed the announcement with “All corrections have been verified and authorized.”

Two of these fixes are worth reading past the patch note. The save-data fix and the Office softlock are both the kind of issue that ends a run rather than annoying you during one, and both were fixed inside 24 hours of launch — a data point on how fast this team is currently turning patches around. The announcement also puts four proper nouns on the record for the first time: the Sattleri Energist enemy, the Tree of Asherah boss and its final phase, the Toxic Fog Core, and Auryto as a quest destination.

Official announcement, August 11, 2026

Multiverse’s launch announcement confirmed the game is out in Early Access with a 17% launch discount, and published an Early Access roadmap as an image inside the post — eighteen planned items across two groups, with no dates on any of them.

Because the roadmap is a separate thing from a patch — intent rather than shipped code — it has its own page, reproduced in full with Multiverse’s own caveat attached: Early Access roadmap.

The short version: three entries settle questions this wiki had been tracking. Co-op is confirmed as online rather than local (see multiplayer), Steam Achievements are planned despite not being implemented (see achievements), and the listing of a third and fourth sector confirms Early Access shipped with fewer than three. Mod or Steam Workshop support appears nowhere on it (see mods).

Launch announcement

Multiverse patches the free Prologue continuously, with official announcements published as Steam community posts. The cadence has accelerated as launch approaches — five updates in the last three weeks alone. Recent updates:

Date Update highlights (official announcements)
August 3, 2026 Demo hotfix for the August 2 update: fixed cases where many players could not play, were stuck on the loading screen, or had much longer loading times. Multiverse recommends a complete uninstall and fresh reinstall instead of only updating. Announcement
August 2, 2026 Destructible enemy landmines, new tutorial cutscene, difficulty rebalance (Demanding eased, Punishing hardened), weapon damage reductions, crash fixes. Announcement
July 29, 2026 Early-game quest flow fixes (Space Resources, Engage the Scourgeborn), Elysia Oasis Decisive Battle final-phase spawn tuning. Announcement
July 28, 2026 Large update: Gratov Quantum Longbow piercing, Shield Grenade health bar, soldier lifespan display, Elysia Oasis Decisive Battle difficulty reduced, extensive balance pass. Also documents a known softlock in the Space Resources mission when tutorial steps are done out of order — restarting the expedition resolves it. Announcement
July 23, 2026 Capture pity system added (guaranteed success after enough failed attempts), “Ineffective” damage indicator, building upgrade costs reduced. Announcement
July 22, 2026 Major update: research queue, three crafting modes (Order / Stock / Auto), reworked revival system, Core Fragment codex, Core slot limit raised to 10, new soldier traits, difficulty rebalance. Announcement
July 1 – 7, 2026 Aged soldier status, melee-kill ammo drops tutorial, Elysia Oasis guidance improved and difficulty reduced, red-quality Core Fragment drops from yellow battles.
December 2025 – June 2026 Regular updates roughly every one to three weeks: bug-fix rounds, difficulty tuning (Relaxed / Lenient / Standard stat modifiers adjusted), enemy stun mechanic, Transport Hub star-map object, Conscription affix and more.

Two caveats, both from Multiverse itself: these notes describe the Prologue build, not the August 10 Early Access build, and content and balance may still change before launch. Numbers you learn in the demo today are not guaranteed to hold.

The full announcement list lives on Steam’s official news hub for the game.

Early Access is live, so from here on this page records:

  • Every patch announcement, with its official title and date (Multiverse does not issue version numbers)
  • New systems — particularly the ones absent from the Prologue: deeper automation, mechs and other late-game mechanics
  • Balance changes to citizen mood, rebellion behaviour, cores and combat
  • New content — sectors, enemies, buildings, cores
  • Bug fixes and known issues
  • Anything that invalidates a page on this wiki, which will be corrected at the same time

That last one matters. Multiverse has stated that content and balance may change during Early Access, so some of what is currently accurate about the Prologue has already stopped being accurate — and more of it will.

Multiverse publishes through the official Steam pages. Those are the authoritative source:
